MS Berkshire Therapy Centre

MS Berkshire Therapy Centre ⋆

MS Berkshire Therapy centre is an organisation created by people who have personal experience with MS for people with MS. This charity’s purpose is to make people’s lives with MS easier as there is no cure for the disease. Their centre provides a range of services from physiotherapy, counseling and social activities. But the unique value of this charity is how they see their members as ‘members’ not ‘patience’, valuing them as human beings rather than defininging them by their disease.

This was a group project that consisted of us redesign their logo, collateral, proposing events to help raise money for the centre and spread awareness, design merchandise, and make a proposal for their social media presence.

COLLATERAL: Leaflets and posters

One of the issues we notices as a group was the charities excessive amounts of handouts that also did not have consistent designs. We minimized this, narrowing it down to two leaflets one for general information about the centre and one promoting the events, as well as large posters for promoting events. I made the decision to have only a two sided leaflet, due to MS affecting people’s mobility that a leaflet with complicated folds would potentially cause difficulty for their target audiences.

Another issue we noticed where the charities photography of their members and the centre. As again these were not consistent and felt staged. With this in mind, i illustrated the images on the leaflets and posters as not only will hand drawn elements give a warmth to the brand appearance, but also meant that i had more freedom in capturing the true elements and tone of the centre.

LOGO:

Within the group i had creative control over the logo. My strategy behind this design was to reflect the centres calming and uplifting traits. After meeting the clients and visiting the centre, i noticed how each consultant room had lavender in them, to make their members feel relaxed and confronted. I decided that this thoughtful feature can be used a unique selling point for their centre, and could be used when creating a new brand appearance.
